The Program Behind the Event

What Is Standing Watch?

Standing Watch is a community-based veteran suicide-prevention program that prepares the people surrounding veterans and service members to notice concern, respond with dignity, reduce isolation, and connect someone to trusted support.

Standing Watch does not replace professional care, therapy, medical treatment, emergency response, or crisis services. It helps communities become more prepared, less afraid to speak up, and more willing to stand beside veterans before they are alone.
